How can you identify a bad supplier at an early stage and thus save yourself a lot of time and, above all, trouble?

The current market situation attracts many black sheep. The number of fake webshops and fake websites has increased drastically in the last 2 years.

Here are the warning signs to look out for:

1) Payment in advance
The supplier requires payment first.

2) Conditions
For example, the goods are poorly packaged.

3) Incoming goods inspection
If the goods are only to be delivered to the test house, the supplier already loses interest.

4) Payment after verification
If the money is only transferred after verification, dubious suppliers will already get out.

5) correctness of the products
Supplier also delivers exactly what was ordered. Even small details, such as "date codes" match the description.

6) Delivery date is met
Do the goods arrive on the agreed date as announced? With clearly defined delivery routes, this is entirely possible.

Last but not least, sourcing remains a game of time and quality. Valuable time you don't want to waste correcting bad supplier decisions.

It should also not be forgotten that the subject of liability and warranty is often unknown to companies outside the EU.

We are happy to share our experiences, but we also say "the shoemaker should stick to his last"! Focus on your product and outsource short-term sourcing to a trusted partner you can count on for the long-term.

With this in mind, we wish you Happy Sourcing 😉.
